When it comes to purchasing an apartment, what exactly is due diligence?Before you sign the contract and deliver your deposit, your attorney will (or should) review the Offering documents for the cooperative or condominium in which the apartment is located, read the Board minutes, review the financial statements, question the property manager and make such other inquiries as may be appropriate based upon the findings from review of the above. In addition, it's a good idea to walk the neighborhood and to inquire about likely changes on all sides of your building. Google everything.
