My dog bit someone in the lobby and I have been notified that if it happens again, my dog will have to go. Does the Board have the power to restrict me from having a pet?Yes. Dog policies vary greatly from co-op to co-op and from condo to condo. Some buildings restrict pets completely and other buildings look like a dog run on the FDR. Once your dog goes postal, the Board may have the right to restrict you to the freight elevator, require you to muzzle your dog, or if your dog has injured someone, cause you to remove the pet from your apartment. Your pet resides in the apartment in accordance with the “pet policy” of your co-op or condo. If you have a difficult pet, you are well advised to be cautious about the pet's behavior on your hall, in the elevator, the lobby or any other public spaces in your building.
